Crispy Chia & Applesauce Waffles

WAFFLES ARE THE BEST BREAKFAST INVENTION IN THE WORLD. Especially the Crispy, Light and Fluffy AND HEALTHY ones...I cannot imagine how my life would be like if waffles were not a part of it <3

Homemade Crispy Chia & Applesauce Waffles

So today I made some Healthy Crispy Waffles with Chia Seeds and Applesauce (Unsweetened), topped with fresh banana and blueberries and with Pure Honey drizzled on top..SO YUM, we finished all of them in one go! :D
Homemade Healthy Chia Seeds & Applesauce Spelt Waffles Recipe

Ingredients
Spelt Flour x 1.5 cup
Pink Salt x 1 tsp
Baking Soda x 1/2 tsp
Baking Powder x 2 tsp
Applesauce (Unsweetened) x 10 tbsp
Whole Eggs x 2
Pure Honey x 5 tsp
Vanilla Extract x 2 tsp
Coconut Oil x 2 tsp
Chia Seeds x 1 tbsp
Homemade Almond Milk x 1/2 - 3/4 cup (depending on how liquid-y you want your waffle mix to be)
Serving: 5 Waffles

Directions
Mix all the dry ingredients in one big mixing bowl, and then stir all the rest of the wet ingredients in another mixing bowl until combined. Pour the wet mix into the dry one, stir well. 

Grease waffle iron with olive oil/ coconut oil. Preheat the waffle iron (the preheat time depends on your machine's setting) and once it is hot, spoon the mix into the iron and close the lid. As my machine does not have a light indicating when the waffles will be done, I keep lifting the lid every few minutes to check if the waffles are done. Once the waffles turn golden brown and the edges turn lightly crisp, they are ready to be served!
Top them with fresh fruits and sauce of your choice - even homemade ice cream or yogurt! NOMMMM
